Shattuckite is an uncommon mineral and it is highly regarded for its unusual natural beauty. The vivid blue and green color effects of this stone, mixed with sparkling druses, make an attractive contrast with the silver. When examined closely the above stone resembles the look of the planet Earth seen from space.
This necklace is an original design and it is handcrafted from sterling silver. The focal point of the necklace is a large pendant featuring oval African shattuckite gemstone set in a tall sterling silver bezel. The pendant also features small silver balls as embellishments, soldered onto the pendant in several stages. The double layered base of the pendant adds depth and dimension and the silver bail is large enough to accomodate any size chain, cord, or ribbon. The unique attachement of the bail allows the pendant to move freely on the chain. The silver has been oxidized and polished to give the pendant a natural, organic look. 
The pendant with bail is approximately  2 1/4" long and 1 1/4" wide. The pendant is presented on a large 1/8" wide sterling silver Omega style chain with lobster style clasp. The chain is 16" long and has a 2" sterling silver chain extender giving the necklace a total of 18" in length. The necklace comes with a Sunshine silver polishing cloth. Only one available.
